Groceries

To shop groceries, we recommend Landvetter center which is approx. 6 km from the cottage. Here you will find two large well supplied supermarkets:

  • ICA Kvantum, which has the largest choice.
  • WILLYS, which is somewhat cheaper.

Clothing

If you need clothing, we can recommend “Nordstan” shopping mall in the center of Göteborg. Other alternatives are shopping malls “Allum” in Partille or Kongahälla in Kungälv

Souvenirs

To buy your typical Swedish souvenirs you can find them at either one of the tourist offices, or for example, at Souvenirer & Tobak kiosk – Södra Hamngatan 63, 411 06 Göteborg

How to use the bed sofa:

Step 1: Pull out the lower bed part from under the seat.

Step 2: Lift it up by pulling the straps upward.

Step 3: Remove the loose cushions and lift the left seat to access the extra mattress.

Step 4: Roll out the mattress on top and you can make the bed.

The sheets can be found in the cabinet above the microwave.

Sauna:

If you are unfamiliar with operating a sauna heater, please carefully read the instructions below. Note that the use of the sauna is at your own risk. The heater gets very hot!

The heater has two button dials on the bottom end.

  • The left is to set the thermostat, regulating the temperature. We recommend the heat to be max. ¾ of the dial
  • The right is to activate the heater and has a timer. The first part of the dial (1-4) is heat on. The second part of the dial (1-8) is the time until the heater will turn on.

Examples:

  • If you want to turn on the heater directly, set the dial somewhere between the first 1-4. If put on 2, the heater will heat for 2 hours and then switch off automatically.
  • If you want the heater to turn on not until 4 hours from now. Set the dial on 4 in the second part of the dial. After 4 hours the heater will be turned on and will heat until the timer switches of automatically.

The sauna will be pleasantly warm in one hour. Enjoy!

If you are unfamiliar to sauna bathing start on the lower seat where it is less warm. Take shorter times and breaks in between outside to get used to the experience. Take a (cold) shower or dip yourself in the lake. If it feels uncomfortable in any way, please stay out.

Sauna-wintertime:

To save electricity wintertime the warm water heater is switched off. No worries we won’t make you shower the Viking way. Just turn on the warm water heater when you inspect or turn on the sauna.

The switch for the warm water heater you will find slightly below and to the left of the heater itself. See picture below.

The switch “WATER HEATER” shall be on “1”. No need to adjust anything else.
